Member of the Editorial Board at HR World Kathryn Kendall, has been appointed as Chief People Officer at wealth management firm Saltus.

Kendall’s primary challenge at the company will be to attract and retain the talent the business needs to realise its growth plans.

The company currently employs more than 200 people and manages client assets of more than £3.1bn.

It acquired London-based Higgins Fairbairn Advisory LLP (HFA), and wealth management firm NSL Wealth last year, as well as winning ‘best financial planner to work for’ at the Professional Adviser 2022 awards.

Among Kendall’s challenges will be to preserve the company’s culture as the company expands.

Kendall has enjoyed more than 20 years’ experience in the HR function and is moving from her Head of HR post at employee benefits and experience platform Benefex.

“After more than eight years growing a business that I absolutely loved, I found it hard to imagine ever wanting to consider making a move elsewhere,” she said. “The opportunity at Saltus was really unique though, and I was drawn in by both the size of the challenge and also the incredible culture that has been evident from my very first meeting with the team. The collective ambition within the business really stands out and makes it a massively exciting place to work.

“Wealth management is a new sector for me, but many of the people challenges we face are consistent across industries,” she continued. “I hope that some of the experience I can bring of scaling organisations whilst protecting and nurturing the culture can contribute to the huge ambitions the Saltus team has when it comes to growing the business, and our shared desire to bring a very human approach to wealth management.”

Jon Macintosh, Managing Partner at Saltus, added: “Kathryn has a really solid track record of leading HR teams within fast growth businesses and of building out the employee brand, which will help us attract and retain the best talent.

“She also brings huge amounts of energy and enthusiasm, and a genuine love for what she does. Kathryn is integral to the success of our growth plans and will be a huge asset to the team.”
