Over half of gambling industry employees rank workplace benefits as very important factor in career choice.
A survey commissioned by employee benefits consultancy Engage Health Group has found that more than half (54.5%) of gambling industry employees say employee benefits are a “very important” factor in their career choices. Moreover, the industry seems to be rising to the challenge with more than three-quarters (76.8%) of employees saying they are “satisfied” or “very happy” with their benefits.
Topping respondents’ list of priorities was access to private health insurance with 37.6% earmarking it as their most desired employee benefit.
“The results suggest that most companies in the gambling industry are taking a proactive approach when it comes to employee wellbeing,” said Nick Hale CII, Founding Director at Engage Health Group. “The popularity of health insurance tracks surveys across different industries so comes as little surprise.
“Health matters and it’s still the case that private healthcare arrangements are seen as the one must-have for many employees seeking to safeguard their wellbeing,” Hale said.
The report, entitled: ‘Gambling Industry Employees Reveal All 2024: Job satisfaction, employee benefits and beyond!’ gathered responses from 250 employees and paints a positive picture of their experiences.
Almost three-quarters (73%) of industry employees were either ‘satisfied’ or ‘happy’ in their job. A similar number (72%) said they would recommend their employer to friends and family as a place to work.
“Gambling has consistently been at the forefront of technology, with many exciting opportunities to work in the latest fields that might not be readily available in different sectors,” said Andre Spahn, Marketing Manager at iGaming recruitment consultancy, Pentasia. “As technology frequently adapts and changes, it leads to an exciting atmosphere for those who are seeking new challenges in their career.”
The report outlines some of the key things companies in the gambling industry can do to better manage and allocate employee benefits to staff, including how to navigate the challenge of managing employee benefits in multiple countries.
